Yesterday I saw a meme on Instagram that perfectly sums the creation of this blog and website. It said: Today I decided to do a task I’ve been putting off for years. It took me 15 minutes and I learned nothing from it. Can you relate? I know I can, I’ve wanted to create my own website, blog and business since I was on maternity leave in 2012. Yep, this site has been in my mind for 9 years. On some level, the inaction was tormenting me. My inaction often torments me. I also spent 8 years wanting to chop all my hair off into a pixie cut, saved many short-hair pics in a file on my desktop only to wonder and obsess about whether it will be a good decision or not. When I made the leap, in that split second I wondered what took me so long. I absolutely love it and never felt more like my true self than I did with my hair that short. So like that Instagram meme, I learn nothing from my overthinking. I’ve been this way for as long as I can remember. “An overthinker”, “a questioner” and possibly a procrastinator?

As I get older I think the one commitment I have is to get out of my head and to get it done. Regardless of the outcome, the right or wrong or good to bad, just following my intuition and pulling the trigger. In fact writing this first post is the perfect first practice of that...rather than overanalyze it, just write and share. So here’s to starting all the things I want...and that you want...today, and not starting tomorrow.
